Canadian Preparation-H Cream with Bio-Dyne (also known as LYCD - Live Yeast Cell Derivative) is used for wrinkles because it works. No fancy packaging, exotic smells, and sky high pricing. No advertising either- it is a word of mouth endorsement where people visiting only-in-canada began requesting Prep-H from Canada because the USA made cream did not have the same results. It worked for Granny but once the Bio-Dyne was removed it was just another hemorrhoid cream. This chapter in Dr. Graedon's book was also written due to consumer requests and questions. A PhD Pharmacist who knows his research on what really works and what just masks the symptoms. The People's Pharmacy Guide to Home and Herbal Remedies 1999 Joe & Teresa Graedon PhD Authors Excerpt from p. 171 Testimonial Page 'Question: I was astonished when my best friend told me that she used Preparation H on her face. She said it helped smooth the wrinkles around her eyes.' 'Answer: Preparation H has been used for lots of things besides hemorrhoids. We have heard of it being employed for bed sores, itchy surgical scars, burns, dry cracked finger, and yes, even wrinkles. The most familiar store-bought hemorrhoid preparation is Preparation-H.' 'Now in the USA Prep-H contains an astringent called phenylepherine instead of Bio-Dyne. We wish the FDA had not meddled with a perfectly fine product. We have never been impressed with the notion of using a vasoconstrictor on hemorrhoids, though the FDA seems to think this makes sense. When phenylepherin wears off it causes rebound dilation and congestion.' The answer is that it works and you see the results immediately. That is why make-up professionals recommend their clients such as Conan O'Brien and Miss USA, use Canadian Prep-H. . PMID: 1691911 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE] Only in Canada eh! That's right, the original product is available from Canada and can be ordered online at only-in-canada or prep-h .com

      4It does the job.  Dec 01, 2009
Sometimes my eyes develop bags under them and sometimes the bags go away. I look much better without the bags. After reading reviews on Amazon, I tried the Canadian Prep H cream to see if it could reduce the size of the bags. Yes, it does. I have trouble with one eye in particular and after an application of this cream the under eye area is smoother and less puffy. As for the smell: yes it has an unpleasant smell. However, it is not as unpleasant as having my under eye cut open, fat removed, and sewn up again, and a good deal less expensive.

2not the results I was hoping for  Mar 27, 2009
I my upper eyes lids are puffy and I also sometimes have puffiness below the eye because of allergies or bad sleep. I had tried the US Prep H and had some good results, but read that there is rebound from its ingredients - so I tried the Canadian. I had absolutely no results with this product. I am very disappointed. I gave it two stars instead of one, because I assume it still works for its originally intended purpose. I don't have any wrinkles, so I haven't tried it for that.

      3The Sperti Bio-Dyne Replacemen t  Feb 25, 2009
35 years ago I was told that Sperti's Bio-Dyne was great for burns and I used it on a number of sun burns with excellent results. Years later, the company discontinued the product but the manufacture said you could get the exact same product in their Preparation - H. Recently, I underwent a 17 day Efudex treatment for pre-cancerous keratosis. Afterward, my face was quite burned and painful. To help in my recovery I remembered Sperti's. I went to order it on line and found that the special yeast ingrediant was banned by the FDA but was available in the product from Canada. Hence, I ordered the product from there. Although the original Sperti's had a distinct odor as did the Preparation - H, the odor of the product from Canada was different, less strong, but I didn't like it. Just prior to receiving the order, my wife found a very old tube of preparation - H which had the special yeast ingredient. I used it on my face with some success. I didn't use the product from Canada that much and except for the odor it was okay. I don't have enough experience with it to recomment it one way or the other. I definitely didn't use either product for hemroids.

5Great for red face also  Nov 06, 2008
I suffered for years from a strange thing, often during the day, especially in the afternoon I would get red in the face (cheeks), often one side only or in patches, looking like I was embarrassed or something. I tried hydro cortisone and other creams and none really helped. My doc said it was like blushing and it was more from the blood vessels under the skin and no creams would help. The doc was damn wrong...... Prep H with the bio-dyne actually cured the redness in a few short applies. If it does come back a bit, a little dab and poof the redness goes away.
